Artistic Background
All designers at Summit must demonstrate exceptional artistic skills. We're happy to see degrees in graphic design or fine art, but it really all comes down to your portfolio and experience. We'll need to see a solid understanding of layout and typography evident in your work. Applicants also need to be comfortable working in a group setting. Organizational skills, streamlined production methods and a good work ethic are an absolute must.
Technical Skills
Our clients expect us to turn jobs around quickly. This would not be possible if we didn't know our applications VERY well. We work exclusively in Mac OS X and require all applicants be very familiar with the operating system and the following applications:
All designers must be able to get their jobs to press on-time and without problems. This requires a good understanding of the printing process and pre-press file prep. For web jobs, you'll need to be able to construct functional, validated pages as well as trouble shoot files once they're deployed on a server. You will be required to know the following concepts:
